A chance encounter during a weekend with friends in Bretagne brought two worlds together: that of Belgian interior architect Floriane Bande and a Dutch couple from Amsterdam. The result is a luxurious interior project for their city apartment that blends the quiet sophistication of Paris, with minimalist touches of Dutch/Belgian design.
Bande’s career has taken her from Antwerp to Paris, where she worked with Pierre Yovanovitch and drew inspiration from the art of bespoke furniture design. Since then, she approaches every project with an integrated vision that seamlessly blends architecture and furniture design.
In the Cliostraat in Amsterdam, influences from the Amsterdam School, art deco, and Belgian minimalism come together. Warm wood contrasts with raw concrete, while square white tiles ‘Hollandse witjes’, a popular style element in Dutch homes from the 16th to 19th century) add a modern, yet historical touch. Bande’s own design pieces, such as the round pouf and glass table with marble legs, are a testament to her vision and craftsmanship. The result is understated luxury, where comfort and elegance are perfectly intertwined.

In the kitchen, white tiles with brown grout were chosen, creating a beautiful contrast with the warm wood. All the tile lines flow seamlessly into the walls, floor, and the rounded kitchen island.
The kitchen island features invisible doors that allow it to fully open, providing additional storage space.

The white tiles, which serve as the common thread throughout the project, flow seamlessly into the skirting boards and even reappear beneath the sofas, creating a sense of a carefully considered, cohesive space.

Low table CLIO and pouf Louvre are collectible pieces made for the project by Floriane Bande
